The speaker is a vintage alnico 12 manufactured by Oxford, and the speaker handles the amp’s roughly 15 watts easily and features a new speaker cone. The Clarostat pots date to 1962, and the amp retains the majority of the original Multivox branded tube set. The tag board circuit has been thoroughly serviced as necessary with the majority of the original resistors and capacitors intact, as well as the original transformers. Falling somewhere between an Ampeg Reverberocket and a Fender Deluxe in terms of tonal response, the Premier 100R is a lovely and rare amp from the golden age of electric guitar manufacturing. The Tremolo is governed by a pair of knobs as well, with a wide range of speeds and a nice, present chop. All onboard effects are exclusive to the first channel, and the Reverb is particularly splashy and full with the original reverb pan and controls for both depth and decay. Just serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bat, the two 6V6 driven circuit stays surprisingly clean and warm even at maximum volume. Produced by Multivox-Premier in New York, the 100R is an uncommon model with a 1×12 enclosure and both tube driven Reverb and Tremolo. Up for sale, a 1962 Mulitvox Premier vintage tube amp model 100R in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch.
